Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or foodservice environment preferred
  • knowledge of Vermont food safety regulations and practices

  • physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
  • effective time management skills
  • excellent communication with team members and supervisors

Job Duties

  • Prepare ingredients and components for dishes according to the menu
  • ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored properly
  • follow recipe specifications, portion control, and cooking instructions accurately
  • cook food items to standardized recipes ensuring consistency and quality
  • assemble dishes according to chef's or customer's specifications
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment
  • comply with Vermont health and safety regulations for food handling and sanitation
  • monitor kitchen inventory and assist with receiving and storing supplies
  • report equipment malfunctions or kitchen issues to management
  • collaborate efficiently with BOH and FOH staff
  • assist in training new BOH employees
  • clock in for shifts on time
  • ensure food is cooked to appropriate temperatures
  • follow allergy protocols and dietary restrictions
  • maintain workplace safety to avoid accidents and injuries
