Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of a culinary school
  • Familiarity with gourmet and specialty menu preparation preferred
  • Some experience in menu planning and costing preferred
  • Valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma preferred
  • Ability to understand and convert measurements
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • Ability to plan a health-conscious menu
  • Ability to interpret information
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to understand profit and loss statements
  • Ability to work in a standard restaurant environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a cook or culinary school graduate
  • Familiarity with gourmet and specialty menu item preparation
  • Some experience in menu planning and costing
  • Valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma
  • Ability to understand and convert measurements
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • Ability to plan a health-conscious menu
  • Ability to interpret information accurately
  • Ability to multitask
  • Understanding of profit and loss statements

Job Duties

  • Plan and develop menus including cost assessment
  • Prepare new recipes, entrees, salads, and other menu items
  • Monitor and maintain physical inventory on a weekly or monthly basis
  • Order produce and other food items daily
  • Participate in ongoing skill development courses to stay updated on food service trends
  • Prepare specialty foods such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos following specific methods
  • Clean and maintain food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • Perform various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position
