Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of culinary school
  • valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma preferred
  • ability to understand and convert measurements
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • ability to plan a health-conscious menu
  • ability to interpret information
  • ability to multitask
  • ability to understand profit and loss statement

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 12 months experience as a cook or culinary school graduate
  • familiarity with preparation of gourmet and specialty menu items
  • some experience in menu planning and costing
  • valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma
  • ability to understand and convert measurements
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • ability to plan a health-conscious menu
  • ability to interpret information
  • ability to multitask

Job Duties

  • Plan, develop, and assess costs for menus
  • prepare new recipes, entrees, salads, and other menu items
  • monitor and maintain physical inventory weekly and/or monthly
  • order produce and other food items daily
  • participate in ongoing skill development courses to stay current with food service industry trends
  • prepare specialty foods such as pizzas, fish and chips, sandwiches, or tacos
  • clean and maintain food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils
  • perform various duties as needed to fulfill the position's function
