Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or ged
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of a culinary school

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or ged
  • 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of a culinary school
  • familiarity with preparation of gourmet and specialty menu items preferred
  • some experience in menu planning and costing preferred
  • valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma preferred
  • ability to understand and convert measurements
  • basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
  • ability to plan a health conscience menu
  • ability to interpret information
  • ability to multitask
  • ability to understand profit and loss statement

Job Duties

  • Plan develop and assess costs for menus
  • prepare new recipes entrées salads and other menu items
  • monitor and maintain physical inventory weekly and or monthly
  • order produce and other food items daily
  • participate in ongoing skill development courses
  • prepare specialty foods such as pizzas fish and chips sandwiches or tacos
  • clean and maintain food preparation areas cooking surfaces and utensils
  • perform various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position
