Job Requirements
- high school diploma or ged
- 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of a culinary school
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or ged
- 12 months experience as a cook or graduate of a culinary school
- familiarity with preparation of gourmet and specialty menu items preferred
- some experience in menu planning and costing preferred
- valid Safe Food Handling and Sanitation Certificate from the State of Oklahoma preferred
- ability to understand and convert measurements
- basic knowledge of kitchen equipment and supplies
- ability to plan a health conscience menu
- ability to interpret information
- ability to multitask
- ability to understand profit and loss statement
Job Duties
- Plan develop and assess costs for menus
- prepare new recipes entrées salads and other menu items
- monitor and maintain physical inventory weekly and or monthly
- order produce and other food items daily
- participate in ongoing skill development courses
- prepare specialty foods such as pizzas fish and chips sandwiches or tacos
- clean and maintain food preparation areas cooking surfaces and utensils
- perform various duties as needed to fulfill the function of the position
