Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum of six months cooking experience in any setting required
  • Verbal and written communication skills required
  • Basic math skills required
  • Basic computer skills preferred
  • Ability to present self professionally
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to communicate professionally and respectfully with others
  • Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment use and knife handling
  • Ability to work safely and report unsafe conditions
  • Ability to participate in departmental meetings and training

Job Qualifications

  • Maintains professional relationships with coworkers, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Basic food safety and sanitation knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, proper use of equipment, and proper knife handling skills

Job Duties

  • Prepares, measures ingredients, and cooks food in accordance with established recipes, production records, and current applicable federal, state, and department standards
  • Reads food order tickets or receives verbal instructions on food required by patrons and prepares and cooks food according to instructions
  • Prepares food and serves customers in a made-to-order setting including a grill station
  • Prepares food and serves customers at an a la carte and may operate a grill station
  • Operates and maintains departmental equipment in a safe, orderly, and efficient manner
  • Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing workstation and equipment
  • Works in a safe manner to avoid injury, reports unsafe conditions, accidents, and injuries
  • Receives inventory, lifts products and supplies, and prepares meals for customers requiring special diets
  • Contributes to achievement of established department goals and adheres to policies, procedures, quality, and safety standards
  • Participates in departmental meetings, initiatives, and training programs as required
