Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • minimum 2 years experience in cooking or food preparation
  • ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry items up to 25 pounds frequently
  • ability to work varied schedules including nights and weekends
  • basic math and reading skills to follow recipes and complete records
  • adherence to food safety protocols
  • physical ability to endure kitchen environment conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • 2 years experience as a cook or in food preparation preferred
  • ability to read recipes and production records
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • strong attention to detail and quality
  • good organizational and time management skills
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

  • Review menus and assemble food supplies and equipment for daily food production following manager instructions
  • follow recipes and production methods to prepare assigned menu items
  • complete daily production records
  • observe and test food quality by tasting, smelling, and using a thermometer
  • label, date, and store leftovers properly
  • maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
  • assist in serving food to patients or retail customers
