Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • knowledge of basic food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • understanding of food safety regulations such as food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • good interpersonal communication skills
  • ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and stand for extended periods
  • willingness to wear uniforms and personal protective equipment

Job Duties

  • Cooks and prepares food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • sets up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
  • prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • safely uses utensils including knives
  • operates kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers
  • bakes, roasts, broils, steams, and cooks food items
  • arranges, garnishes, and portions food according to guidelines
  • properly stores food adhering to safety policies
  • cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor
  • adheres to safety policies including food safety and sanitation
  • ensures security of company assets
