Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • two years experience in food service industry preferred
  • annual tuberculosis testing and annual health assessment required
  • knowledge and application of sanitary food preparation standards
  • required references and criminal record check
  • ability to work in well lighted, air conditioned or heated environment
  • willingness to occasionally work outdoors
  • compliance with safety protocols including use of protective equipment
  • ability to operate food preparation equipment such as slicer, grinder, mixer, stove and dishwasher

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • two years experience in the food service industry preferred
  • ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • knowledge of dietary restrictions and prescribed diets
  • excellent customer service skills
  • strong communication and leadership abilities

Job Duties

  • Responsible for overall function of kitchen and dining room services while on shift
  • creates an environment of respectful teamwork supervising and working alongside Dietary Aides
  • ensures food preparation and sanitation practices and policies are followed in a safe environment
  • prepares and serves prescribed diets to residents in a friendly, customer service oriented manner
  • acts in a professional manner and serves as a role model to other staff
  • completes other duties assigned by Dietary Director
  • maintains compliance with health and safety standards
