Job Description

Wheatfield Commons, a distinguished DePaul Senior Living Community, is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join their team on a full-time basis, with a weekly schedule of 37.5 hours working from 11 am to 7 pm. Job Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen years of age
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • two years experience in food service industry preferred
  • required annual tuberculosis testing and annual health assessment
  • awareness and application of sanitary food preparation standards
  • required references and successful criminal record check

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the overall function of kitchen and dining room services while on shift
  • create an environment of respectful teamwork supervising and working alongside dietary aides
  • ensure food preparation and sanitation practices and policies are followed in a safe environment
  • ensure residents are prepared and served the diet prescribed by their physicians in a friendly, customer service oriented manner
  • act in a professional manner at all times and serve as a role model to other staff
  • complete other duties as assigned by the dietary director
