UCLA Lake Arrowhead Lodge is a distinctive Southern California meeting and retreat venue nestled high in the scenic San Bernardino Mountains, with stunning views overlooking the serene shores of Lake Arrowhead. This 50-acre lodge serves as a tranquil getaway providing exceptional meeting space and accommodations tailored for groups, hosting events from September through mid-June. Job Requirements

  • Candidate must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of a satisfactory background check and Live Scan prior to employment
  • Completion of a satisfactory pre-placement physical examination
  • Ability to work variable schedules including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Maintains regular punctual attendance
  • Ability to operate semi-independently exercising good judgment
  • Commitment to safety standards for personal and public safety
  • Ability to manage time and organize work efficiently

Job Qualifications

  • 2-3 years food preparation and general kitchen maintenance experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to perform job duties
  • Ability to engage respectfully and culturally responsively with diverse populations
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures related to food production
  • Knowledge of inventory control principles and methods
  • Ability to perform basic calculations for recipes and portion sizes
  • Strong culinary techniques and understanding of culinary terminology preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare and produce menu items for dining services and banquets
  • Interact professionally with team members and guests in a high-volume environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in food production areas
  • Follow established recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Assist in inventory control and ordering supplies
  • Comply with safety procedures and regulations
  • Adapt to fluctuating workloads and schedules
