Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a kitchen or food preparation environment preferred
  • Ability to comply with all local, state, and federal food sanitation regulations
  • Must be able to follow safety and hygiene protocols
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks including standing for long periods, lifting, and handling kitchen equipment
  • Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Reliable timekeeping and adherence to scheduled shifts
  • Commitment to ethical and professional conduct
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting
  • Attention to detail in food preparation and presentation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a high-volume kitchen environment preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions
  • Basic cooking skills including chopping, measuring, and cooking techniques
  • Familiarity with nutrition guidelines
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting

Job Duties

  • Conduct all duties and responsibilities ethically and professionally
  • Follow the prep list
  • Label and stock all ingredients FIFO
  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
  • Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
  • Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food, steaming etc.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Able to organize the assigned work area and efficiently put away orders
  • Review status of work and follow-up actions required with the Head Cook before leaving
  • Responsible for preparing and cooking all food items by the recipe and to specification
  • Prepare all menu items by strictly following recipes and yield guide
  • Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and food preparation checklist
  • Slice, grind and cook meats and vegetables using a full range of cooking methods
  • Have knowledge of cooking temperatures, making soups and sauces, preparing entrees, vegetable preparation and a la carte cooking
  • Set up the station with par stocks of menu items, and prepare the dishes designated for that station
  • Complete opening and closing checklists for kitchen stations
  • Assist others in closing the kitchen
  • Other duties as directed
