Job Requirements

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role required
  • Validated knowledge of the basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations such as accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification
  • Demonstrate basic math and counting skills
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal

Job Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and execute high-quality meals for banquets, conferences, and catered events ranging from small gatherings to large-scale functions
  • Follow established recipes, production guidelines, and portion standards to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Set up and organize workstations with necessary ingredients, tools, and equipment
  • Measure, weigh, mix, chop, trim, and prepare ingredients for cooking according to event requirements
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment including ovens, grills, slicers, mixers, and steamers safely and efficiently
  • Use a variety of cooking techniques such as baking, roasting, grilling, and sautéing to prepare meats, vegetables, and other menu items
  • Plate, garnish, and portion food attractively in accordance with established service and presentation standards
  • Maintain food safety and sanitation by properly storing, labeling, and rotating ingredients and finished products
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean and organized
  • assist with event setup and breakdown of buffet lines, food stations, and plated service areas as needed
  • Communicate effectively with culinary and event teams to ensure smooth service flow and on-time meal delivery
  • Adhere to all company safety, security, and food handling policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate excellent customer service, professionalism, and a positive attitude toward guests and coworkers
