Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or kitchen environment preferred
  • food handling and alcohol service certifications required within specified timeframe
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • availability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • must comply with company policies and safety standards
  • ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment

Job Duties

  • Responsible and accountable at all times for operating in the best interest of the company
  • maintains a positive representation of company at all times including the name, integrity, culture and concept of the company
  • commits and complies with company mission, guiding principles and employee manual including policies, procedures and guidelines
  • encourages and facilitates productive working relationships throughout the company
  • prepares and properly stores ingredients for menu items including washing, chopping, dicing, mincing, pureeing, peeling, cutting, mixing, seasoning and portioning
  • safely and properly stores all food, food prep and other items in correct locations
  • accurately and efficiently prepares, portions, cooks and presents menu items
  • accurately reads tickets to ensure ingredient additions, deletions and substitutions
  • responsible for safe operation and handling of all kitchen equipment
  • checks orders for modifications including removal of allergens
  • communicates modifications to essential parties
  • follows and practices company standards of food preparation for customers with food allergies including sanitizing and/or replacing utensils and surfaces
  • ensures guests are positively impacted by exceeding expectations
  • ensures food quality and safe food handling requirements
  • facilitates efficient and effective set-up and break down of kitchen and kitchen stations
  • consistently follows recipes, portions and product production as per company guides
  • effectively and efficiently completes side work and closing duties
  • proactively warns employees and guests of any hazards
  • follows company standards of cleanliness
  • remains updated and educated on specials, features and menu deviations
  • promptly reports customer concerns, injuries, accidents and high-risk issues to management
  • obtains required food handling and alcohol service certifications
  • completes and passes required tests including menu and alcohol product tests
  • follows company control procedures to safeguard assets
  • practices company standards for customers with food allergies including use of allergy alert buttons in POS system
  • promptly and enthusiastically answers phone and takes carry-out orders through POS system
  • greets guests picking up carry-out food accurately taking payment and processing orders
  • participates in pre-shift and mandatory staff meetings
  • coordinates breaks with management if allowed by law
  • creates accurate payroll records through POS clock-in/clock-out functions
  • monitors payroll hours and notifies management of potential overtime
