Job Requirements
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- one year experience cooking food for large groups or equivalent combination of training and experience
- ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- ability to cook, taste, and smell food
- ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
- ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely if required
- food handler's certificate or ability to obtain within established timeframe
- valid state driver’s license preferred

Job Duties
- cook and serve nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
- ensure all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner
- clean kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances
- maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner
- follow instructions and work independently
- adhere to proper cooking methods and safety procedures
- comply with sanitation and food storage standards
