Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- minimum one-year experience cooking for large groups or equivalent training
- Food Handler's Certificate or ability to obtain within timeframe
- ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- physical ability to perform continuous walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely, following all laws, regulations, and policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- one-year experience cooking food for large groups or equivalent training and experience
- knowledge of proper cooking methods and procedures
- knowledge of meal planning techniques
- knowledge of effective cleaning and sanitizing practices
- ability to cook nutritional, tasteful, and safe food for large groups
- ability to properly clean kitchen appliances and utensils
- ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Food Handler's Certificate or ability to obtain within timeframe
- valid state driver's license preferred
Job Duties
- Cook and serve nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with guidelines and schedules
- ensure meals are prepared and served safely and presentably
- clean kitchen facilities, equipment, and appliances
- maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner
- follow instructions and work independently
- ensure effective cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen areas
- uphold food storage and safety standards
