Job Requirements
- three years of experience in large scale cooking or equivalent combination of experience and training
- knowledge of DOH regulations
- ability to supervise employees
- capability to perform heavy lifting
- strong organizational and recordkeeping skills
- excellent customer service skills
- availability to work Monday through Friday
Job Qualifications
- three years of experience in large scale cooking or equivalent combination of experience and training
- graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered two-year college with an associate degree in food service administration, dietetics, or nutrition is preferred
- one year of experience in the preparation of food on a large scale
- strong supervisory and customer service skills
- knowledge of Department of Health regulations
Job Duties
- prepare and serve food for over 500 students
- directly supervise 5 to 10 employees
- ensure compliance with DOH regulations and National School Lunch/Breakfast Program requirements
- manage daily food and supply inventory and ordering
- maintain accurate daily records
- oversee quality control and safe food storage and handling
- maintain kitchen sanitation and equipment
- handle cash and maintain time records
- perform heavy lifting as required
