Job Requirements
- High school education or equivalent preferred
- Minimum two years cooking experience in hotel, restaurant or hospital
- Ability to interpret and follow recipes
- Positive attitude
- Dependable
- Good organizational skills

- Ability to speak and read English
- Ability to take Food Service Sanitation exam within 3 months of hire
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, holidays and weekends

- Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Prepare and portion food servings according to Diet Office tally records and recipes
- Prepare, cook and replenish hot food items for patient trayline, cafeteria and catering
- Ensure adherence to deadlines for food production
- Ensure menu items are prepared according to standardized recipes
- Attractively prepare and present food items
- Document quantities of items prepared and leftover
- Ensure food items are properly labeled, dated and stored appropriately
- Observe and taste food for flavor, texture and temperature
- Report safety issues and participate in safety initiatives
- Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
- Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas
- Document food temperatures during meal service
- Report equipment in need of repair
- Adhere to proper portion control
- Utilize standardized recipes and manage leftovers
- Complete Food Waste Log
- Attend meetings, inservices and training
- Complete annual competency assessment
