Job Requirements
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Experience in food preparation and general maintenance in a kitchen
- Ability to work independently and prepare multiple menu items for a meal
- Ability to perform demonstration cooking and prepare quality baked products

- Three years of experience in food preparation and general maintenance of a kitchen area or equivalent combination of education and experience
- IIPP requirements compliance
- Serve Safe certification must be kept updated

Job Duties
- Prepares assigned menu items following department recipes and production sheets for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner
- Merchandises food including garnishing for station presentation
- Participates in ongoing customer service programs including demonstration and station cooking
- Prepares food from scratch and works independently on entrees
- Responsible for food station preparation, presentation, production set-up, organization, and clean-up
- Makes recommendations to Chef or Senior Cook on recipes and menu improvements
- Reports production and mealtime usage and completes service records at end of meal period
- Distributes prepared food at correct temperatures to designated serving areas
- Safely operates and maintains kitchen equipment
- Works with food service workers and student employees to ensure proper presentation, portion control, and quality control
- Instructs Food Service Workers and student employees on proper service and presentation
