Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
  • One year on the job training as assistant manager or kitchen leader preferred
  • Willingness to participate in District 70 payroll direct deposit
  • Successful completion of background check
  • Ability to follow safety and sanitation protocols
  • Availability to work 5.5 hours per day for 151 days annually

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred associate or bachelor’s degree
  • Food service safety certification preferred
  • Minimum of two years experience in quantity cooking and food preparation
  • One year of supervisory or kitchen leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and observe food safety regulations
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook large quantities of food according to established recipes and nutritional guidelines
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and equipment
  • Ensure food safety standards are met and followed
  • Assist in inventory management and ordering of food supplies
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff as needed
  • Collaborate with nutritional services to offer attractive and nutritious meals
  • Operate kitchen appliances and equipment safely and efficiently
