Job Requirements

  • completion of high school diploma or equivalent
  • no experience required for entry level
  • one year quantity cooking experience for experienced level
  • two years quantity cooking experience including one year at experienced level for advanced
  • must pass background checks in line with state regulations
  • ability to complete required training
  • willingness to adhere to ethical standards
  • provide professional references
  • submit official transcripts if applicable

Job Duties

  • perform and oversee cooking and food preparation tasks
  • follow on-the-job training and close supervision at the intermediate level
  • use independent judgment for cooking assignments at experienced level
  • function as lead worker overseeing cooks, kitchen helpers, and prisoner workers at advanced level
  • ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards
  • coordinate kitchen workflow and staff responsibilities
  • train and mentor lower-level kitchen staff
