Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • minimum of 6 months to 1 year previous experience in back-of-the-house food service position preferred
  • ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations
  • familiarity and experience with knife handling preferred
  • ability to communicate with others and work in a fast-paced environment
  • attentive and detail oriented
  • capable of following procedures and taking directions
  • basic math skills
  • must be able to lift 50 lbs or more
  • able to reach up to seven feet, bend, and squat
  • capable of standing and walking for the entire shift in moderate to high noise levels
  • manual ability to chop, mix, blend, whip foods and liquids
  • able to operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare food to comply with all portion sizes, quality standards, department rules, policies, and procedures
  • ensure proper food temperatures are maintained
  • store food correctly
  • maintain the freshness and quality of all menu items
  • package all products to proper specifications
  • keep workstation, coolers, and equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
  • use waste control guidelines and record all waste on the spoilage sheet
  • perform opening, closing, and side work duties
  • complete end-of-day inventory
