Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year experience as a cook
  • Ability to bend, stoop, lift up to 60 lbs, stand and move intermittently throughout the work day
  • Willingness and temperamental capacity to respect and enjoy working with people
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum one year experience as a cook
  • Ability to work with and understand persons with substance abuse or mental health problems
  • Knowledge of sanitation guidelines and safety procedures
  • Ability to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of food service areas
  • Strong ability to prepare nutritious and economically viable meals

Job Duties

  • Prepare three meals daily ensuring that established standards of nutrition, sanitation, and quality are maintained
  • Attend and participate in continuing in-service trainings
  • Maintain the care and use of supplies and equipment
  • Maintain the appearance of work areas and inspect food service areas for sanitation, order, and safety
  • Assist the Food Service Director in developing, implementing, and coordinating department policies and procedures
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
