Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a hotel kitchen or culinary setting
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
- Physical ability to perform kitchen duties
- Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Job Qualifications
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience
- Good communication skills
- Professional knowledge of cooking ingredients and procedures
- Experience in hotel cooking preferred
- Ability to work in various kitchen stations
- Team player with motivation skills
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation
Job Duties
- Preparing meal ingredients, including seasoning meats and washing, peeling, chopping vegetables and fruits
- Preparing salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie
- Receiving deliveries and verifying quality and accuracy
- Motivating and training apprentices and coworkers
- Working within budgeted guidelines
- Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying supervisor of shortages
- Discarding expired and spoiled food items
- Performing basic cleaning duties and sanitizing work stations
- Plating and presenting meal items as per instructions
- Completing additional tasks and assignments as needed
