Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of previous line cook experience
  • Culinary degree or equivalent hotel kitchen experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good verbal communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic cooking tasks
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary degree or related hotel experience preferred
  • Two years of previous line cook experience required
  • Able to perform all basic cooking skills
  • Able to work single station in the kitchen
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • True desire to satisfy needs of others in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Preparing meal ingredients including seasoning different meats and washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables and fruits
  • Preparing salads and sauces as directed by the Chef de Partie
  • Receiving deliveries and verifying quality and quantity of ordered items
  • Motivating and training apprentices and coworkers
  • Working within budgeted guidelines
  • Taking inventory of restaurant supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock
  • Discarding expired and spoiled food items from storage areas
  • Performing basic cleaning duties and ensuring workstations are sanitized
  • Plating and presenting meal items according to Chef de Partie instructions
  • Completing various additional tasks and assignments as needed
