- high school education or equivalent experience
- minimum one year food service or related work experience
- must be punctual and adhere to attendance guidelines
- ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely
- able to maintain a clean and sanitary work station
- able to read, write and speak basic English
- able to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment
- must be physically able to work under extreme kitchen heat conditions
- follow company safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- high school education or equivalent experience
- minimum one year food service or related work experience
- ability to operate, maintain and clean kitchen equipment including deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven, steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron, flat top grill
- able to read, write and speak basic English
- able to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions
- able to understand and apply basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- prefer at least two years experience working in a high volume kitchen
Job Duties
- prepare food in accordance with production requirements and standard recipes
- maintain a clean, sanitary and safe station at all times
- set-up assigned station efficiently
- produce products consistent with quality standards and recipes
- work the fry, pantry and salad stations
- produce and plate salads, pantry and fried items
- start food items prepared ahead of time without overproduction
- date all food containers and rotate as per SOP
- check pars for shift use and communicate shortages
- assist in setting up and stocking buffet
- return unused food to designated storage areas with proper covering and dating
- assist in prep work of vegetables and condiments
- maintain food and cleanliness standards
- perform routine maintenance and cleaning on line equipment
- manage time and productivity according to business volume
- work safely under extreme kitchen heat conditions
- support team efforts and cooperate with other associates and supervisors
- report unsafe work conditions
