Job Requirements

  • 1 year of cooking experience for pantry/prep roles
  • up to 5 years of cooking experience for lead roles
  • ability to use various kitchen equipment efficiently and safely
  • physical stamina to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
  • ability to stand for long periods without sitting
  • ability to bend, stretch, twist, and reach
  • ability to work under variable temperatures and noise
  • near vision to see details at close range
  • ability to move quickly and agilely when required
  • ability to work long hours
  • ability to communicate effectively in English

Job Qualifications

  • culinary training in a college setting preferred
  • prior cooking experience in a hotel kitchen or related field preferred
  • banquet and fine dining experience preferred for certain roles
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to multitask effectively
  • knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices
  • ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels

Job Duties

  • prepare high quality food for restaurant and banquet guests following established guidelines
  • maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen work area
  • adhere strictly to sanitation and safe food handling procedures
  • work collaboratively as part of the kitchen team to ensure timely food delivery
  • assist and train other kitchen staff as a Lead Cook when applicable
  • follow all safety and security protocols set by the hotel
  • contribute to food ordering and preparation requirements to meet budget and guest count
