Job Requirements

  • Oregon food handlers card or equivalent
  • Food Protection Manager Certification within 6 months of hire
  • three years of cooking experience in an institutional or commercial setting serving complete meals or an associate degree in food service management, foods and hospitality service, or related field
  • good understanding of math, customer service, cleanliness, and food handling skills
  • availability to work at least four days per pay period
  • ability to work in a loud, hot, and greasy environment
  • ability to follow food safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • An Oregon food handlers card or equivalent

  • good understanding of math, customer service, cleanliness, and food handling skills
  • high school diploma or GED preferred
  • five years of cooking experience preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to standardized recipes and production schedules
  • cook various food items using appropriate commercial equipment and methods
  • maintain mise en place by organizing ingredients and supplies
  • monitor and record food temperatures at serving times
  • ensure food safety by following HACCP standards and sanitation procedures
  • check and verify delivered food products for quality and quantity
  • provide training and oversight to other food service personnel
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen work areas
  • adjust recipes for quantity and quality as necessary
  • support food preparation for patients, retail outlets, and catering
  • manage food storage with correct labeling and dating
  • perform other duties as assigned
