Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • minimum three years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title
  • experience within luxury brand markets preferred
  • Food Safety Manager certification preferred or must be attained within 30 days
  • ability to work safely in high temperature and humidity kitchen environment
  • ability to cope with frequent changing priorities and deadlines
  • capable of lifting up to 40 lbs regularly
  • willingness to work varying schedules including over 40 hours per week
  • ability to work collaboratively in a noisy shared space
  • strong communication and multitasking skills

Job Qualifications

  • basic knowledge of soups, stocks, and sauces
  • proficiency in multiple cooking techniques
  • ability to communicate effectively and multitask
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with guests using professional and Kessler standard nomenclature
  • operate telephone system with correct salutation and etiquette
  • maintain guests privacy and confidentiality
  • protect company proprietary information and assets
  • complete temperature books of hot and cold food
  • complete equipment checklists and notify of issues
  • properly prepare and present food items including special requests
  • rotate food to minimize waste and spoilage
  • maintain cleanliness of all food preparation areas
  • communicate ordering needs to kitchen leadership
  • set up hot and cold line stations according to specifications
  • assist dining room waiters in food and beverage service
  • follow proper food handling procedures
  • wash dishes, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and trays
  • maintain organized pantry and coolers
  • clean countertops, walls, and mop floors
  • segregate and remove trash and recyclables
  • polish silver and glass as needed
  • communicate guest requests to appropriate leader
  • maintain menu knowledge
  • comply with sanitation standards and maintain professional appearance
  • comply with safety and security policies
  • attend training and meetings
  • perform other tasks including cross-training as directed
  • basic knowledge of kitchen production and operations
  • familiar with kitchen equipment cleaning and use
  • proficient in cooking techniques such as sauteing, broiling, poaching, boiling, steaming, and braising
  • know fabrication of basic proteins
  • effective communication and multitasking
  • proficient with knives and culinary tools
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems
