Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or related training equivalent in the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • minimum three years of relevant work experience in similar scope and title
  • experience within luxury brand or markets preferred
  • Food Safety Manager certification preferred or attained within 30 days
  • ability to work in noisy, shared kitchen environment
  • capable of coping with frequent changes and deadlines
  • able to work safely in high temperature and humidity conditions
  • flexible schedule including over 40 hours per week as needed
  • able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly
  • able to stand and move for extended periods
  • strong communication skills
  • basic computer proficiency

Job Qualifications

  • proficient in food handling and kitchen safety procedures
  • knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen operations
  • ability to multitask and communicate effectively
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • familiarity with kitchen equipment and maintenance

Job Duties

  • Greet and interact with internal and external guests in a warm and professional manner
  • operate the telephone system with proper etiquette
  • maintain guest privacy and confidentiality
  • complete temperature logs for hot and cold foods
  • perform equipment checklists and report issues
  • prepare and present food items to meet quality standards and guest requests
  • rotate food in storage to minimize waste
  • maintain cleanliness of food prep areas
  • communicate ordering needs to kitchen leadership
  • set up hot and cold line stations following specifications
  • assist dining room waiters with food and beverage service
  • follow proper food handling procedures
  • wash dishes, glassware, and silverware
  • clean pots, pans, and trays
  • maintain organized pantry and coolers
  • clean kitchen surfaces and mop floors
  • manage waste segregation and disposal
  • empty and clean garbage containers
  • sort recyclables
  • transfer and store clean dishes and kitchen equipment
  • transport dirty dishes to dishwashing station
  • polish silver and glassware
  • promptly communicate guest requests
  • maintain menu knowledge
  • adhere to sanitation standards
  • maintain professional appearance
  • comply with safety and security policies
  • attend all training and meetings
  • perform cross-training and other assigned duties
  • demonstrate knowledge of kitchen operations and equipment use
  • proficient in cooking techniques including sauteing, broiling, poaching, boiling, steaming, and braising
  • effectively communicate and multitask
  • proficient in knife handling
  • basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and POS systems
