Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Social security card
  • Birth certificate
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Availability to report to duty during emergencies or disasters
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the position
  • Completion of Louisiana Military Department annual and required training
  • Adherence to code of ethics and sexual harassment-free environment
  • Membership or eligibility in Louisiana National Guard or State Guard
  • Passing pre-employment background investigation and drug test
  • Willingness to attend in-office work
  • Must have checking or savings account for direct deposit

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in food service
  • Ability to work independently with general guidance
  • Effective communication skills with peers
  • Ability to adhere to sanitary food handling procedures
  • Familiarity with HACCP standards
  • Ability to follow prescribed recipes and portion control guidelines
  • Understanding of kitchen sanitation and maintenance

Job Duties

  • Work under the supervision of the shift supervisor and maintain standards in their absence
  • Adhere to sanitary standards in handling and preparing food
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food following prescribed Army menus and HACCP regulations
  • Maintain proper temperature controls and portion sizes on the serving line
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and storage rooms
  • Dispose of garbage and perform preventive maintenance on kitchen equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
