Job Requirements
- two years of cooking experience in an institution or commercial firm serving complete meals
- or an associate's degree or certification in Food Service Management, Foods and Hospitality Service, or a directly-related field
- must obtain Lane County Food Handler's card within two weeks of employment
- ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals
- ability to provide excellent customer service
- ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize duties
- availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to handle food service conditions including heavy lifting and prolonged standing
Job Qualifications

- ability to provide excellent customer service ensuring guest satisfaction

- experience directing staff preferred
- experience preparing food in a high-volume kitchen preferred
- exhibition cooking experience preferred
- experience working within a HACCP plan preferred
Job Duties
- lead and direct the work group in daily meal preparation
- adhere to Housing Food Services standards for quality and inclusivity
- create respectful and inclusive work environment
- assign work to Cook 1s, food service workers, temporary staff, and student employees
- assist manager with labor cost control through staffing analysis and scheduling
- assist with product ordering and receiving
- support ongoing training of classified and student staff
- act as backup for manager in their absence
