Job Requirements
- Food handlers card or equivalent
- Food Protection Manager Certification with 6 months of hire
- Three years of cooking experience in an institution or commercial firm serving complete meals or an Associate's degree in Food Service Management, Foods and Hospitality Service, or a directly-related field
- Basic knowledge of therapeutic diets
- Ability to participate in menu planning and recipe development
- Ability to work flexible hours as scheduled
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents
- Ability to adhere to food safety and sanitation standards
- Capacity to coordinate and direct other cooks and food service workers

- Apprenticeship or ACF Certification as CC preferred
- Experience in hotel or high volume restaurant catering preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare food items for patients and visitors according to standardized recipes and menus or verbal instructions
- Perform mise-en-place, preparation, cooking, holding, chilling, reheating, labeling and dating of food products
- Ensure all foods are handled safely following HACCP, infection control, and health department guidelines
- Identify critical control points in food prep and storage and take corrective actions
- Clean and sanitize work areas, utensils, and equipment by prescribed methods
- Maintain adequate supplies and inventory, checking deliveries for quantity, quality, and safety
- Develop and oversee production schedules, coordinating with supervisors and adjusting for orders
