Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in food preparation or commercial kitchen environment preferred
  • Ability to work early morning schedule from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Friday and Saturday off
  • Willingness to work holidays if they fall on scheduled workdays
  • Ability to supervise and instruct clients assigned to kitchen duties
  • Compliance with Health Department sanitation and safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare a variety of food items for meals at two residential facilities producing approximately 1,000 meals per day using commercial kitchen equipment
  • Instruct and supervise clients assigned to kitchen duties providing training on food safety sanitation practices and safe equipment use while modeling pro-social work habits
  • Enforce hygiene and sanitation standards monitoring residents for compliance and addressing behavioral or procedural issues through coaching or disciplinary actions when necessary
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas and equipment following Health Department guidelines to prevent foodborne illness
