Job Requirements

  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Minimum of 1 year of related cooking experience
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and short correspondence
  • Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to bend, twist and stand for normal job functions
  • Frequent immersion of hands in water and water diluted with chemicals
  • Frequent work with sharp knives, utensils and hot plates
  • Frequent work in hot environments

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of closely related cooking experience
  • Work experience in high volume and casual dining restaurant environment preferred
  • Food preparation skills and knowledge of HACCP standards
  • Ability to speak, read and comprehend instructions and policy documents
  • Comfortable conversing with customers
  • Knowledge of soups, saute, broiler, fry and pantry food preparation

Job Duties

  • Follow recipes and product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving food items
  • Taste products, follow menus, estimate food requirements, check production and keep records for planning production and requisitioning supplies
  • Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment
  • Practice excellent food safety and sanitation practices in compliance with HACCP standards
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment and perform tasks like measuring, mixing, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding ingredients
  • Stock, date, rotate and check temperature of products
  • Communicate ticket times and potential problems to management and servers as necessary
