Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • basic understanding of kitchen equipment and appliances
  • one year of previous food service experience preferred
  • ability to travel to various locations in a timely manner
  • ability to read and comprehend recipes and kitchen safety instructions
  • ability to operate kitchen and cleaning equipment safely
  • ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • ability to apply policies, procedures, and health standards consistently
  • ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, or flexible schedules as required

Job Qualifications

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • basic understanding of kitchen equipment and appliances required
  • one year of previous food service experience preferred including commercial dishwasher use
  • ability to read, interpret, and understand recipes, instructions, and kitchen safety procedures
  • knowledge of basic food preparation, arrangement, and sanitary food service practices
  • knowledge of Public Health Regulations and kitchen cleaning procedures
  • knowledge of safe operation and maintenance of kitchen appliances
  • skill in operating kitchen equipment including commercial dishwashers
  • skill in maintaining clean, sanitary, safe kitchen environment
  • skill in food preparation for small to large groups
  • strong communication skills with public and team members
  • ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
  • ability to provide quality customer service in a fast-paced environment
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Provides excellent customer service in a professional and courteous manner
  • assists patrons with reasonable requests
  • works with staff to ensure the highest level of patron satisfaction
  • prepares and cooks food using established recipes
  • portions meals for service maintaining quality, presentation, and portion control
  • operates kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and microwaves ensuring food and appliance temperatures meet safety standards
  • follows proper food handling, thawing, and sanitation protocols to comply with Public Health Regulations
  • controls spoilage and food waste
  • ensures a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen and dining environment by performing cleaning tasks, sanitizing surfaces, washing dishes, maintaining cleaning supplies and equipment
  • sweeps, mops, empties trash, and performs cleaning tasks daily, weekly, and monthly to meet City standards
  • manages inventory by receiving and storing supplies, monitoring stock levels, rotating ingredients, reporting inventory needs
  • reports kitchen maintenance needs or safety hazards
  • sets up and maintains buffet for tournaments and events
  • may direct and support volunteers including explaining food service processes and program-specific procedures
  • may be required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • performs duties as assigned
