Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education diploma (GED)
  • two years of recent relevant experience
  • knowledge of maintaining a safe food environment including proper cleaning procedures and equipment
  • ability to interpret a variety of data and instructions
  • ability to instruct and functionally supervise other employees
  • written and verbal communication skills
  • well-developed time management and organizational skills
  • general knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • ability to identify and resolve standard problems
  • ability to build collaborative relationships with others

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • prepare and cook food for patients, staff, visitors and catering functions
  • follow established policies and procedures to ensure food quality and accuracy
  • instruct and functionally supervise other employees performing similar duties
  • support sanitation by cleaning and storing dishes, utensils and pots
  • disinfect work areas to maintain safety and hygiene
  • communicate effectively with team members, supervisors and hospital personnel
  • ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations regarding food safety and sanitation
