Job Requirements
- high school diploma or G.E.D.
- one-year experience cooking food for large groups
- ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively
- ability to cook, taste and smell food
- ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing
- physical strength to lift and carry heavy objects up to 75 pounds frequently

Job Duties
- cook and serve nutritional meals and snacks in accordance with established guidelines and schedules
- ensure all meals are prepared and served in a safe and presentable manner
- clean kitchen facilities, equipment and appliances
- maintain inventory of kitchen supplies and food in a neat and orderly manner
- perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing during work hours
- comply with physical requirements including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 75 pounds
- uphold The Salvation Army’s religious mission in daily tasks
