Currently, SSP America is hiring full-time Line Cooks to work at various restaurant locations within the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX Airport). The position offers an hourly wage of $27.55 and includes valuable benefits such as two weeks of paid vacation, referral bonuses, and employer-covered benefits up to 95%. As a Line Cook at SSP America, candidates will play a critical role in preparing and delivering high-quality food items in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires a strong understanding of recipes and portion control, adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, and the ability to maintain a well-organized workstation. Line Cooks will be responsible for the daily setup and breakdown of kitchen stations, requisitioning and stocking necessary food and supplies, and ensuring proper storage and rotation of ingredients to maintain product freshness. The role also includes performing cleaning duties and routinely maintaining kitchen equipment to meet health and safety regulations.
Ideal candidates for the Line Cook role will have at least one year of prior experience in a similar capacity, possess basic mathematical skills, and be able to communicate effectively in English. Job Duties
- Follow all recipes and practice portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered items
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the kitchen/station on a daily basis
- Requisition and stock all required food, paper products, and condiments
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly
- Responsible for set-up, regular maintenance, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment
- Maintain stock, cutting, and storage of all perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Complete opening, ongoing, and closing checklists as required
- Take responsibility for the quality of products served
- Perform general and specific cleaning tasks using standard cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards
- Other duties as assigned
