Job Requirements
- Complete a background investigation with favorable results
- Be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- Be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods
- Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
- Obtain a Food Handler's Certificate and/or complete food handler’s training
- Satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI)
- Be a U.S. citizen or non-U.S. national residing in U.S. territory for three or more consecutive years prior to appointment
- Register for Selective Service if male born after December 31, 1959
- Use direct deposit for payment
- Successfully complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check
- Meet all qualification and eligibility requirements
- Provide a REAL ID or approved combination of identity documents for installation access
Job Qualifications
- Experience in and knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods and procedures gained in grill, snack bar, restaurant, club, or similar food service activity
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work safely
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic
- Knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
- Familiarity with characteristics of various foods
- Ability to season food and determine when foods are done
- Physical ability to lift objects up to 40 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull, and bend for long periods
- Ability to complete a pre-employment physical
- Ability to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate or complete food handler’s training

Job Duties
- Perform a full range of simple cooking tasks such as preparing pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and vegetables
- Prepare hot cereals and broiled meats
- Cook concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
- Make cold sandwich fillings
- Prepare convenience items including frozen hash browns, fish fillets, and chicken nuggets
- Prepare and bake pizza as needed
- Peel, chop, grind, slice, dice, puree, dredge, flour, or bread food items
- Weigh, measure, and assemble ingredients for regular menu items
- Set up and replenish the salad bar
- Portion foods for distribution and meal service
- Cover, date, and store leftovers according to established procedures
- Wash and clean kitchen equipment
- Perform other related duties as assigned
