Job Requirements

  • may require Food Handler's permit or Foodservice Sanitation Certification depending on location

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to learn food safety procedures including safe ingredient temperatures
  • ability to work as part of a team collaborating on complex orders
  • interpersonal skills to interact with crew members and management
  • consistently follow ingredient measurements for quality products
  • ability to follow directions and safety requirements

Job Duties

  • Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare salads sauces dough cheeses pizza crust vegetables sandwiches and casseroles
  • follows measurement charts to ensure consistent quality products
  • bakes fries microwaves main dishes and cooks or heats other food items
  • observes and tests cooking by viewing smelling piercing with fork and testing temperature with thermometer to ensure proper cooking
  • provides guidance to kitchen crew and management during food preparation
  • washes peels cuts dices and shreds vegetables and fruits for use
  • maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas containers and utensils
  • monitors thermostat controls to regulate temperature of kitchen equipment and reports malfunctions
  • records product usage and waste
  • operates dishwasher
  • delivers clean plates utensils glasses to service areas
