- may require Food Handler's permit or Foodservice Sanitation Certification depending on location
Job Qualifications
- Ability to learn food safety procedures including safe ingredient temperatures
- ability to work as part of a team collaborating on complex orders
- interpersonal skills to interact with crew members and management
- consistently follow ingredient measurements for quality products
- ability to follow directions and safety requirements
Job Duties
- Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe using kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare salads sauces dough cheeses pizza crust vegetables sandwiches and casseroles
- follows measurement charts to ensure consistent quality products
- bakes fries microwaves main dishes and cooks or heats other food items
- observes and tests cooking by viewing smelling piercing with fork and testing temperature with thermometer to ensure proper cooking
- provides guidance to kitchen crew and management during food preparation
- washes peels cuts dices and shreds vegetables and fruits for use
- maintains cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation areas containers and utensils
- monitors thermostat controls to regulate temperature of kitchen equipment and reports malfunctions
- records product usage and waste
- operates dishwasher
- delivers clean plates utensils glasses to service areas
