Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One year experience in food preparation preferred
- Experience in preparing and cooking food in large quantities
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of post acute care facility laws, regulations, and guidelines
- Ability to implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Proficient in patient rights, safety, and sanitation competency areas
- Ability to maintain professional relationships and confidentiality
- Understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Adhere to Life Care's Code of Conduct and complete mandatory compliance training
- Availability for both AM and PM shifts
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- One year experience in food preparation preferred
- Experience in preparing and cooking food in large quantities
- Knowledge of practices and procedures as well as laws and regulations governing functions in a post acute care facility
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Proficient in all competency areas including patient rights, safety, and sanitation
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships and confidentiality
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve meals that are appetizing in both taste and appearance and appropriate for each patient
- Knowledgeable of ordered diets as well as food consistency
- Ensure food and supplies for the next meal are readily available
- Serve meals and snacks in a timely manner
- Utilize production tools and recipes provided to prepare meals and snacks
- Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in the evacuation of patients
