Job Requirements
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification
- One or more years of experience as a cook or line cook in healthcare or restaurant environment preferred
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines
- Manual dexterity to handle complex equipment
- Physical ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods
- Ability to tolerate temperature extremes and exposure to cleaning chemicals
Job Qualifications
- Food handler permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work
- One or more years of experience as a cook or line cook in healthcare or restaurant environment preferred
- Ability to read and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safe food handling techniques
- Understanding of workflow, prioritization, and deadlines
- Preferred experience providing exceptional customer service
- Preferred knowledge of modified diet preparation
- Preferred use of commercial cooking equipment
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook food following recipes and instructions
- Prepare bulk food items and large scale production meals
- Maintain an organized and sanitary work environment
- Ensure proper food quantities with appropriate rotation
- Interact with customers in catering, retail, or patient care settings
- Deliver patient meals, cashier, stock supplies, and operate ware-washing machines
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
