Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- desire to work with seniors and tolerance for behaviors associated with aging processes
- ability to remain calm and use sound judgment
- flexible availability including weekends and holidays
- ability to follow recipes accurately
- commitment to kitchen sanitation and safety standards
- ability to assist with inventory and budget adherence
- willingness to complete serve-safe training and ongoing education
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior culinary experience preferred but not required
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- ability to follow recipes accurately
- strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- willingness to work weekends and holidays
- serve-safe certification or willingness to obtain
- experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting is a plus
Job Duties
- execute menu items, plate presentation, and food quality to company standards
- knowledge of food preparation, ingredients, recipes, and equipment used for dining facilities
- maintaining kitchen sanitation and safety standards
- assist kitchen manager with inventory controls and follow budgets
- ability to remain calm in a variety of situations and use sound judgment
- ability to work flexible hours as needed
- know how to follow a recipe
- prepare hot and cold menu items for residents three times a day
- ensure the proper preparation, portioning, and serving of foods as indicated on the menu
- follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and sanitation schedules
- provide exceptional customer service and care to our senior residents
- serve-safe training certification and ongoing training
- ensure compliance with all laws and regulations as they relate to food service within the communities
