Job Requirements
- must be a u.s. citizen, national or owe allegiance to the u.s.
- must complete a background investigation with favorable results
- must be able to obtain a food handler’s certificate and/or complete food handler’s training
- must complete a pre-employment physical examination
- must be physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- must be able to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time
- must provide a real id or authorized identity documents for installation access
- male applicants born after december 31, 1959 must be registered for selective service
- direct deposit is required
- must satisfactorily complete employment verification (e-verify)
- probationary period may be required
- must satisfy all qualification, eligibility and background requirements
- pre-employment requirements must be met prior to entrance on duty
- no pcr move authorized
Job Qualifications
- experience in and knowledge of methods and procedures relating to food preparation and presentation gained in a grill, snack bar, restaurant, club or similar food activity
- ability to follow oral and written instructions
- work safely
- do simple arithmetic
- knowledge of operating and cleaning food service equipment
- knowledge of characteristics of various foods
- ability to season food and decide when foods are done
- physically able to frequently lift objects weighing up to 40 pounds
- ability to continuously stand, walk, stoop, reach, push, pull and bend for long periods of time
Job Duties
- perform a full range of simple cooking tasks by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers and fresh or canned vegetables
- prepare hot cereals, broiled meats
- prepare and cook concentrated or dehydrated soups, sauces, and gravies
- make cold sandwich fillings
- prepare convenience items such as frozen hash browns, fish fillets and chicken nuggets
- bake pizza
- prepare food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring or breading
- weigh, measure and assemble ingredients for menu items
- set up and replenish salad bar
- portion foods for distribution and meal service
- cover, date and store leftovers according to procedures
- wash and clean kitchen equipment
- mix ingredients according to written recipes to produce quality products and minimize waste
- perform other related duties as assigned
