Job Requirements
- At least 6 months experience in healthcare or restaurant facility
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification within 1 year of hire or grandfathered exemption
- Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire at specified locations
- Ability to follow instructions and perform basic math
- Capability to work in fast-paced and changing environments
- Willingness to adapt to schedule and assignment changes
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED culinary degree preferred
- Experience as a cook in a healthcare facility preferred
- Illinois Food Safety Sanitation Certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire
- Basic math skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Flexible and adaptable to changes
- Knowledge of safe food handling procedures
Job Duties
- Prepare and present high quality food within specified time frame for patient and retail services
- Follow proper safe food handling procedures
- Take customer orders and prepare food according to recipe and dietary specifications
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area
- Adapt to changes in schedule and work assignments
- Collaborate with healthcare and food service team members to ensure customer satisfaction
- Monitor food inventory and report shortages or quality issues
