Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in food preparation
- Ability to obtain Serv Safe certification within one year
- Completion of Hampton Roads Fats, Oil, and Grease (HR F.O.G.) training
- Good communication skills
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience preferred
- Serv Safe certified within one year of employment
- Hampton Roads Fats, Oil, and Grease Training (HR F.O.G.) Certification required
- Three years experience in institutional food preparation or related field is desirable
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Job Duties
- Responsible for all food preparation such as hot and cold food prep including vegetables, salad, baking, proteins, and desserts
- Work with special diets
- Serve meals in a resident dining area
- Assemble assorted diet food, mechanically altered, other requirements and daily snacks
- Responsible for next day breakfast, lunch, or dinner, prep and catered/special events prep
