Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment
  • ability to read and speak English fluently to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members
  • demonstrated manual dexterity and physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks efficiently
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • capability to move objects and climb stairs as required in the kitchen setting

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking in a professional kitchen environment
  • ability to read and speak English fluently to understand recipes, safety instructions, and communicate with team members
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • experience working under the supervision of a Dietary Supervisor or in a similar culinary leadership role
  • familiarity with dietary restrictions and special meal preparation
  • previous experience in a senior living or healthcare food service environment
  • strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a busy kitchen

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook a variety of meals following standardized recipes and dietary guidelines
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food preparation areas in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • assist the Dietary Supervisor in menu planning, inventory management, and food production processes
  • ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness
  • communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate meal preparation and service schedules
