Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • manual dexterity
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • availability to work alternating weekends
  • basic knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation practices

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a similar cook or kitchen role preferred
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment safely
  • basic culinary skills including food preparation and cooking methods
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • willingness to work alternating weekends

Job Duties

  • Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe and sanitary food-handling practices
  • ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperature by regulating kitchen equipment
  • ensure freshness of ingredients by checking quality and rotating stock
  • monitor, cook and prepare foods using tasting, smelling, or food thermometers
  • prepare stations according to company guidelines
  • bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foods
  • season, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • wash, peel, cut, and seed fruits and vegetables for consumption
  • carve, trim and prepare meats and seafood
  • may bake breads, rolls, cakes, and pastries
  • may wash pots, pans, dishes, utensils, or other cooking equipment
  • compile and maintain food usage records
  • may assist with inventory management
  • follow food specification amounts and assist in forecasting preparation needs
  • prepare and serve food to customers timely
  • communicate kitchen equipment and supply needs to supervisor
  • adhere to company standards for safety, sanitation, uniform guidelines, and productivity
  • provide excellent customer service
  • perform other assigned duties as needed
