Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous cooking experience, preferably in healthcare or senior living
  • Basic knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to adhere to dietary restrictions and customize meals
  • Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
  • Willingness to work flexible hours if needed
  • Strong team player with effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role, ideally in a healthcare or senior living setting
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
  • Ability to follow recipes, adjust portion sizes, and prepare meals for large groups
  • Compassionate and caring attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of seniors
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, organized environment
  • Certification in food safety, culinary arts, or a related field is a plus

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
  • Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
  • Prepare special meals for residents with specific dietary needs such as low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, or gluten-free options
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth meal preparation and service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
  • Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies
  • Support a positive and respectful work environment by collaborating with team members
