- Good physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods
- Willingness to work flexible hours if needed
- Strong team player with effective communication skills
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a cook or in a similar role, ideally in a healthcare or senior living setting
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to follow recipes, adjust portion sizes, and prepare meals for large groups
- Compassionate and caring attitude with a genuine desire to enhance the lives of seniors
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, organized environment
- Certification in food safety, culinary arts, or a related field is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas
- Prepare special meals for residents with specific dietary needs such as low-sodium, diabetic, vegetarian, or gluten-free options
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth meal preparation and service
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen workstations
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies
- Support a positive and respectful work environment by collaborating with team members
