Job Requirements

  • One to three years of culinary experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and dietary guidelines
  • Must adhere to health and safety standards
  • Effective communication skills

  • State food safety certification preferred

Job Qualifications

  • One to three years of applicable culinary or kitchen experience
  • Familiarity with state health and safety regulations
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes and menu plans
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Food safety certification preferred

Job Duties

  • Open and close the kitchen as required, ensuring all operations run smoothly
  • Maintain a well-organized and efficient kitchen environment
  • Prepare and present breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks daily, ensuring high-quality standards
  • Create and present food for parent weekends and other special events as directed by the Chef de Cuisine
  • Execute menus generated by the Chef de Cuisine, adhering to all recipes and presentation guidelines
  • Adjust meal preparations based on communicated dietary restrictions and preferences of clients
  • Provide healthful, nutritious, and organic meals and snacks, as directed, to support the well-being of our clients
  • Ensure overall kitchen cleanliness, including regular cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, ovens, floors, and dishes after each meal and food preparation
  • Adhere to state health and hygiene requirements, as well as Newport Healthcare standards
  • Engage positively with parents and other guests, building appropriate rapport with clients to enhance their dining experience and foster positive associations with mealtimes
  • Participate in baking or cooking groups as directed, contributing to team collaboration and skill development
